Bw internet safety for kids6

Teach Your Kids to Surf the Internet Safely

Your kids are the primary target of internet-based threats like computer viruses, adware, and spyware through the websites they frequently visit and misleading information they receive. This is the reason why, as parents, it is important to discuss with your kids how to surf the net safely and away from any internet-based threats.

Downloads

Downloading files from unknown source is one of the most common reasons why the computer is infested with viruses and spyware. Free games, flash animations, bundled emoticons, jokes, screen savers, and even free spyware removal downloads are potentially unsafe. Teach your kids to assess the safety of the site before clicking on these ads or tell them to ask you first before making any moves.

Peer-to-Peer File Sharing

Free and downloadable peer-to-peer file-sharing software or p2p software has the potential to transmit internet-based threats from one computer to another. This is why it is equally important to make sure that your kids avoid using these programs.

The rule of the thumb is, never in any circumstances will you allow your kids to download programs from the internet without your permission. Ensure this by keeping their account "limited".

Safe Sites

You can't detect if a particular site contains internet-based threats on your own so if your kids are young enough to use kids-friendly web browsers, then it is advisable to do so. These web browsers are downloadable - some are free while some come with a reasonable price. The good thing about these web browsers is that they only allow access to pre-determined and pre-scanned websites so your kids are assured good sites every time they use the internet.

Junk mails

If your kids have their own email addresses, make sure that you tell them the danger of downloading attachments from unknown senders for these often contain dangerous and malicious file that can corrupt your computer.

Misleading Dialog Boxes

You often see dialog boxes saying: "Your computer might be at risk!" or "Warning! You may have critical errors on your PC." "Or your computer is running slowly." You may ignore these but your kids may not. So it is very, very important that you tell your kids that whenever they see any misleading dialog boxes appearing or just popped out from their screen, ignore them or call your attention immediately.

Explain to your kids that you tell them these not to limit their enjoyment on the internet but by making sure that they are protected from any harm these internet-based threats can bring.

Sales training brisbane tips 21 ways to increase sales

1. Prepare Yourself To Excel.

Use a checklist to prepare your attitude, appearance, customer information, company and product information and the selling environment, so you can be at your best on every call.

2. Notice What Is Working.

Study yourself, your product or service and your company to know what is working now. Reinforce the actions and tools, which are generating results. Learn from your successes as well as your failures.

3. Know Your Competitive Advantage.

Study your company and your products and services in relation to what your competitors offer. Know where and how you stand out, and where you don't. Be prepared to discuss these comparisons at any moment.

4. Improve Your Sales Skill, Not Just Your Product Knowledge.

Don't rely on product knowledge to make you more persuasive. Sharpen your skills in reading people, describing your offer in compelling ways and in asking for the order at the right time.

5. Target The People Who Are Your Best Prospects.

Best customers have patterns. Most will fit the same pattern, so prospect among those who fit the pattern. Calling on people with similar needs, circumstances, and interests makes you more likely to create another best customer.

6. Know What To Be Curious About.

Know in advance what questions to ask by knowing what answers you need. Cultivate a strategic curiosity. Learn to be curious about the things that will advance your chance of making a sale.

7. Realize Who Is In Your Market.

Create a profile of the ideal market for what you offer. Define who they are, where they can be reached, what they care about, what they fear, what they read, whom they admire and more. Know them well.

8. Understand The Person And Their Situation.

Create an awareness of the psychological needs of your prospect as well as knowing what their technical needs are. Sometimes the way someone wants to feel has more influence on their decision to buy than what they actually need.

9. Find The Diamonds In Your Own Backyard.

More business exists around you than you know. Look among your friends, neighbors, existing customers, past customers, colleagues, competitors and coworkers for the opportunities that others overlook.

10. Ask For Specific Referrals.

Tell people what your ideal customer or prospect looks like. Ask them who they know who fits this description. Then ask them to take a specific action to help you meet the prospect; a telephone introduction, a testimonial letter, arrange a luncheon or coffee shop meeting, etc.

11. Manage Your Sales Reputation.

Determine today how you want to be thought of tomorrow. Specify the reputation you want within each group of which you are a part, and then work a plan to earn it piece by piece.

12. Grow Your Brand Identity.

Get yourself and your company known within your market area. Write articles, letters to editors, offer expert input for reporters and publishers, conduct surveys, provide free services to key people, donate your time to worthy causes, put your photo on your business card, share valuable ideas via email. Create a broad awareness of yourself as an authority on what you do.

13. Build A Fortress Of Great Relationships.

It is not only who you know that determines the value of your relationships; it is whether they know you as a valuable business resource. Define who you need to know today and five years from today. Start now to cultivate the relationships and the reputation, which will expand your possibilities.

14. Learn To Manage Points Of View.

Half your job is keeping yourself and others in the right frame of mind. Cultivate your ability to keep the focus on the things that matter most. Become a person who can put everything in perspective for others.

15. Manage Tension Throughout The Sales Process.

As tension rises, trust falls. Be aware of the ebb and flow of tension as the sale unfolds. Learn to reduce it when it gets in the way and to momentarily increase it to add urgency to the decision process.

16. Look Like Good News To Your Customer.

The way you are perceived by your customer determines how much resistance you will encounter as you sell. Learn to project a positive feeling among those you communicate with. Become a partner in problem solving, not a sales persuader.

17. Cultivate A Selling Style That Uses Your Sales Strengths.

Use the combination of online communication, in person calls, telephone contacts, trade show attendance, and public speaking, which allows you to shine. Build a mix of activities to diminish your sales weaknesses and amplify your strengths.

18. Give Samples Of The Experience You Represent.

A movie ticket doesn't just buy you a seat in the theater; it buys you the experience of enjoying the movie. What experience does your product or service bring to people? Give them a way to sample that experience through your presentation.

19. Stay Conscious Of The Meaning In What You Do.

When a person doesn't find much meaning in what they do, they don't bring much value to what they do. Write down specifically how your product or service makes life better for those who buy it. Read this description every day briefly, to keep in mind the reason behind the purchase. It's not about buying; it's about benefiting from buying.

20. Know When And How To Ask For The Order.

Learn to recognize buying signals, how to ask differently with different people, when to let the customer sell himself, how to negotiate details and when to walk away. If you don't ask you don't get. But how you ask often determines success or failure.

21. Deserve To Have Loyal Customers.

Know how to cultivate dedicated clients. Become competition-proof by delivering more than people expect. Overfill your client's needs and be their business friend, even when they are not buying from you. Be the kind of person people rave about.

White collar crimes 03

Whenever I take a glance at the current events on television or in the newspaper I can't help but notice the focus on crime. Even if you're a web surfer, you've surely seen all the negative topics regarding the scum of our society. I notice how they love to focus a great deal on the brutal stuff. I assume they know it gets the public's attention. This means business for them. The more gruesome, the more money made. Yikes, we live in a strange world. Anyway, what about all the white collar crimes? Yeah, you remember those, right? I'm sure you've heard the phrase "white collar crimes" before. What does this mean you may ask? Well, with white collar crimes comes privilege. Or at least this is typically the way it works. Those individuals committing these crimes are not commonly poor or ready to shoot someone. They have greater things in mind.

In my opinion, white collar crimes are some of the most annoying acts committed on this planet. In fact, whenever I hear this topic arise in the media, it concerns some rich executive doing shady things with the stock market in order to make more millions, or some business mogul laundering company funds. Isn't that typical? Therefore it really doesn't matter if you're wealthy or financially set. Chances are you will still want more. That's the human mind for you. Regardless of what's in your bank account, it's never enough. Even the rich folks crave more gold and silver. It's been a curse of mankind since the beginning of time. Just take a look at Martha Stuart. This is a white collar crime if I ever saw one. Remember the insider trading issue? She was apparently receiving inside information concerning the stock market and sold before she lost. That is not legal. It's the epitome of white collar crimes. I think after this little mishap occurred, people took a second look at Mrs. Molly Homemaker. They couldn't help but wonder what else Martha had to hide.

As long as we exist on this planet, white collar crimes will also exist. I'm afraid that mankind's greed and desire for wealth is a never-ending story. If you would like to better understand white collar crimes or criminal minds and activity in general, check out some of the latest articles published online.

The 7 steps to successfully responding to product knockoffs

It’s every small business owners nightmare: you find and market the perfect product or service only to wake up one morning and find that someone else is producing cheap knock offs of the same thing.

So how do you deal with it? By following our seven steps…

1. Offer a better product

It sounds simple, but offering a better product is both the easiest and most effective way to respond to product knock offs. There is always a market for products which improve on the ones that have come before them: make sure you're consistently looking for ways to improve your product, and you'll remain one step ahead of the knock off sellers.

2. Create a marketing edge

A great deal of good business comes down to great marketing. This is another area in which it's easy to gain an advantage over product knock offs. The people who sell knock offs aren't interested in building a brand, creating a buzz or researching their market. In fact, they want to spend as little time and money as they possibly can on selling more units of their product knock off. By investing in your marketing, you can gain an important edge.

3. Make quality a priority

You'll never be able to stop knock offs completely. What you must remember, however, is that knock offs have one big disadvantage over your product: their quality.

Most knock offs are cheap, mass-produced copies of quality goods. That's why they're sold for so little. By offering a product which is truly high quality, you'll appeal to those buyers who aspire to owning the real thing, and make it much more difficult for anyone to copy you.

4. Getting a patent does not prevent competition

A patent will help you deal with knock offs to a certain extent. What it won’t do is eliminate the competition. You'll never completely eliminate the competition. All you can do is rise above them by making sure your product, service and marketing is the best it can possibly be.

5. Target smaller or niche markets where you can have the edge

While you may want to conquer the world with your business, it's often far more effective to conquer a small part of it by targeting a niche which you can excel in. By concentrating on a niche market you can get to know your clients and their needs inside out, and make sure your product or service is tailor made to fit that niche. Leave the rest of the world to the knock off sellers.

6. Adapt to market changes and trends

In business, you have to adapt or die. By allowing your business to trudge along, doing the same thing in the same way you leave yourself wide open to competitors who are willing to be innovative and to move with the times.

7. Provide exceptional customer service

Businesses which produce knock off products often aren't interested in customer service. People like to do business with other people they can trust: that may not apply to sellers of knock-off products, but it should apply to you. If it does, you have nothing to fear from product knock offs.

Summary

While it's impossible to completely eliminate product knock offs completely, it is possible to respond to them in such a way that your own sales don't suffer. This article provides seven steps to help you make sure that your products and service are able to stand up to the competition.

Cisco ccnp bsci exam tutorial filtering bgp updates with prefix lists

A major part of your BSCI and CCNP exam success is mastering BGP, and that includes filtering BGP routing updates. In this tutorial, we'll take a look at how to filter BGP updates with prefix lists.

R4 is advertising three networks via BGP. The downstream router R3 sees these routes and places them into its BGP table as shown below. R3 has two downstream BGP peers, R1 and R2, and is advertising itself as the next-hop IP address for all BGP routes sent to those two routers.

R4(config)#router bgp 4

R4(config-router)#network 21.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0

R4(config-router)#network 22.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0

R4(config-router)#network 23.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0

R3#show ip bgp

BGP table version is 4, local router ID is 3.3.3.3

Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i –

Internal

Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? – incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

*> 21.0.0.0 10.2.2.4 0 0 4 I

*> 22.0.0.0 10.2.2.4 0 0 4 I

*> 23.0.0.0 10.2.2.4 0 0 4 I

R3(config)#router bgp 123

R3(config-router)#neighbor 172.12.123.1 next-hop-self

R3(config-router)#neighbor 172.12.123.2 next-hop-self

In turn, both R1 and R2 have these three routes in their respective BGP tables.

R2#show ip bgp

BGP table version is 4, local router ID is 2.2.2.2

Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i –

Internal

Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? – incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

*>i21.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

*>i22.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

*>i23.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

R1#show ip bgp

BGP table version is 4, local router ID is 19.1.1.1

Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i –

Internal

Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? – incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

*>i21.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

*>i22.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

*>i23.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

If we wanted R3 to receive all three of these routes from R4 but not advertise all of them to R2 and R1, we've got a couple of options on how to block these routes. Cisco's recommendation is the use of prefix-lists, and once you get used to the syntax (which you should do before taking and passing the BSCI), you'll see they are actually easier to use than access-lists.

In this case, we're going to configure R3 to send only the route to 21.0.0.0 to R1 and 23.0.0.0 to R2. However, we do want these two routers to get any future routes that R4 advertises into BGP.

Since R1 and R2 will learn about these routes from an iBGP neighbor, they will not advertise the routes to each other.

On R3, we'll write a prefix-list that denies 22.0.0.0/8 and 23.0.0.0/8, but permits all other routes. After applying the prefix list as shown, R1 sees only the 21.0.0.0 /8 route.

R3(config)#ip prefix-list FILTER_R1 deny 22.0.0.0/8

R3(config)#ip prefix-list FILTER_R1 deny 23.0.0.0/8

R3(config)#ip prefix-list FILTER_R1 permit 0.0.0.0/0 le 32

R3(config)#router bgp 123

R3(config-router)#neighbor 172.12.123.1 prefix-list FILTER_R1 out

R3#clear ip bgp * soft

R1#show ip bgp

BGP table version is 6, local router ID is 19.1.1.1

Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i –

Internal

Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? – incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

*>i21.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

The paths to 22.0.0.0/8 and 23.0.0.0/8 have been successfully filtered.

We'll do the same for R2, except the route not being expressly blocked is 23.0.0.0/8. The line "ip prefix-list permit 0.0.0.0/0 le 32" is the prefix list equivalent of a "permit any" statement in an ACL.

R3(config)#ip prefix-list FILTER_R2 deny 21.0.0.0/8

R3(config)#ip prefix-list FILTER_R2 deny 22.0.0.0/8

R3(config)#ip prefix-list FILTER_R2 permit 0.0.0.0/0 le 32

R3(config)#router bgp 123

R3(config-router)#neighbor 172.12.123.2 prefix-list FILTER_R2 out

R3#clear ip bgp * soft

R2#show ip bgp

BGP table version is 6, local router ID is 2.2.2.2

Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i –

Internal

Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? – incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

*>i23.0.0.0 172.12.123.3 0 100 0 4 I

The paths to 21.0.0.0/8 and 22.0.0.0/8 have been successfully filtered.

To see the prefix lists configured on a route as well as the order of the statements in each list, run show ip prefix-list.

R3#show ip prefix-list

ip prefix-list FILTER_R1: 3 entries

seq 5 deny 22.0.0.0/8

seq 10 deny 23.0.0.0/8

seq 15 permit 0.0.0.0/0 le 32

ip prefix-list FILTER_R2: 3 entries

seq 5 deny 21.0.0.0/8

seq 10 deny 22.0.0.0/8

seq 15 permit 0.0.0.0/0 le 32

Get some hands-on practice with prefix lists and you'll quickly master them. Prefix lists are an important part of working with BGP in the exam room and production networks, so it's vital that you are comfortable working with them.

Work for results

The internet today comes with promises of wealth and fame. This allows many to dream of riches and notoriety. The opportunity is out there but the fact is that most people don't have a clue how to get there.

So many think that they can achieve this prosperity by just showing up. Unfortunately, that is not the way this ball bounces.

Is there a simple answer? I don't think there is a single simple answer, yet how to be successful on the internet is pretty basic. You have to be willing to work. Work at what you may ask?

First thing is to work hard at learning everything you can about your chosen field. I would suggest to read and study the people who have had success in the past. There is a endless supply of knowledge floating around out there and you want to read as much of it as you can.

When I first started trying to make a living on the net, I thought I was wise enough to do it on my own. It sure didn't take long to figure out that was a joke. When I started paying attention to what some of the successful marketers were doing, I started making money myself.

People pay thousands of dollars to go to college to get the information needed to be successful. Yet most are not willing to pay a hundred dollars for educational information on the net. This is not to say that you should go spend thousands of dollars for an internet education but there is information worth paying for.

Now you have read and you have read some more and you are ready to start working on the internet. It is now time to put in some more of that hard work. Work is the key ingredient to get you where you want to go.

Part of the learning experience is to learn how to work. When I first started on the net, I wasted much valuable time. The problem was that I did not know what kind of work was worth the time. This is part of the education that comes with experience. You will find that managing your time well is very important. May be time to read some more.

The internet is a great place for anyone who wants to work and work is the key word. There is money to be made but it is not going to jump in your lap just because you showed up.

Workplace conflict faqs an interview with judy ringer

Does conflict disrupt your workplace environment? Read on! Judy Ringer answers some commonly asked questions on the subjects of workplace conflict, difficult people, and how to manage them more effectively.

Q. What are some typical breakdowns in the workplace?

JR: I wouldn’t call them breakdowns, but conflicts. A typical conflict is what is sometimes called triangulation. One person is upset with their coworker, and instead of speaking with the co-worker about their concern, they talk to someone else about it or many others about it. Office gossip starts this way.

Different work styles, misunderstanding of roles, jumping to conclusions -- these are all ways that conflicts get started.

Q. Why do people keep falling into the same traps in the workplace?

JR: Our training is insufficient. We’ve been trained to deal with conflict in ways that are not useful. A typical myth about conflict is that it is negative. And so we see people around us either avoiding it or acting out their feelings. The triangulation example demonstrates this myth. I’m afraid to speak directly to you about a conflict, but I will talk to others about it. And so the problem doesn’t go away. In fact it often gets worse.

We keep falling into these traps because we see others doing it that way. In spite of the fact that it doesn’t work, it’s what we know so we keep doing it, hoping for a different result. Of course that doesn’t work, and we keep having the same conflicts.

Q. Please give some examples of disrespectful behavior.

JR: This is an important question. It helps to understand that behavior that appears disrespectful to me may not appear the same to you. Did she mean to be disrespectful? Or is she just tired this morning? Or shy? Or preoccupied? (The list goes on.)

On the other hand, ignoring a new supervisor’s request to perform a task differently can show disrespect, especially if you don’t communicate about it. Eye rolling, sighing, clicking your tongue, giggling conspiratorially with another coworker -- these often show a willing disrespect.

Sometimes we don’t know we’re being disrespectful. It’s important that new employees understand the work culture and what does and does not constitute disrespect. Social skills are learned. One of the supervisor’s jobs is to help employees understand when their actions are perceived as disrespectful and to give them alternatives. A good supervisor is a good teacher.

Q. How do I know if my boss is a tormentor or a teacher?

JR: Ha! That’s up to you. You decide. You have that power. Our most difficult situations, coworkers, and bosses can turn out to be teachers if we choose to learn something about why we react to them. What would it take to change my attitude from making a judgment about them to being curious about them, or being curious about my reaction to their behavior?

And I don’t mean to say that the boss is necessarily right or that his behavior is beyond reproach. What I mean is that I have to make some choices about how to handle what’s coming at me from this person. I could talk to him about the impact his behavior is having on me, the team, and our ability to get the job done. Or I could complain to others. Do I have the awareness and skill to notice my resistance, check out which of my buttons are being pushed, and make a wise decision about how to proceed?

Maybe I find that if I change slightly I can regain some confidence and equanimity and be able to handle the situation more effectively. This is how a tormentor becomes a teacher. As I learn about myself I begin to have new options.

Q. How can an employee create a win-win situation with a tormentor?

JR: You begin by being curious. What would make a reasonable, rational person behave this way? The answer is usually something you can identify with. For example, an authoritarian boss usually has values around perfection, looking good, being in control, and getting the job done correctly. I certainly can identify with these intentions. The way the boss acts out the intention may be rough. But now you have the basis for a conversation. You’re entering in a more positive way, and you can talk about commonalities.

Another way to create win-win solutions is by asking useful questions of the other person. What is important to them in this conflict? What would they like the outcome to be? One of the best questions I ever raised in a conflict was to ask the other person what caused them to be so upset with me, and what I might have done differently. She was happy to tell me. I learned a lot.

Q. What are some tips to handle strong emotions in the workplace?

JR: Begin by acknowledging the emotions. Take a minute and take stock of your own emotions. Name them. Are you angry, sad, happy, surprised, disappointed? Usually there are many emotions happening simultaneously. Acknowledge as many as you can. Next, identify the underlying causes. Often there’s a story connected to the emotion that’s causing you to react but has nothing to do with the current event. If you can identify the story (usually an old, familiar one), you can bring some awareness to the situation. The awareness tells you how much of the emotion has to do with the current event and how much of it is from the past event. Once you know, you can choose how to utilize the energy. For example, with a huge emotion, you might be tempted to hide it or to act it out on the other person. When you get a sense about why the event is so charged, you’ll regain some balance and be able to make a wiser decision about how to (or even if you want to) have a conversation with the person instead.

Acknowledge the other person’s feelings as well. Consider what story they might be telling themselves, and inquire about it. For example: “You sound upset (acknowledgment). Are you? Have I said something that caused you to react this way (inquiry)?” It just takes practice, like anything else.

Q. Can you give five tips to managing a difficult conversation?

JR: Most books on this topic, though they may speak differently about them, identify the same basic skills for handling difficult conversations:

1. Start with yourself. Acknowledge your feelings and gain control of them. Breathe. Identify your desired outcome for the conversation and try to guess at theirs. What do they want? What do you want?

2. Be curious. Inquire. Find out how they see the situation. Ask useful questions and listen. Don’t judge or make assumptions. Don’t take it personally. This is their story and they can tell it whatever way they want. Support them.

3. Acknowledge their story and their feelings. Validate their concerns. This doesn’t mean you agree. It means that you hear them. It’s a tremendous gift and moves the conversation in a useful direction. You get a gift, too. You learn a lot about what’s important to this person, which will be helpful when you begin to look for solutions.

4. Advocate for yourself. What is your story? What are they not seeing? Explain how the situation looks from your perspective. Go slowly and don’t assume.

5. Build solutions based on new understanding. As you begin to listen and talk, information comes out that will help you co-create effective solutions with your partner.

Event suppliers

Event Suppliers/Vendors: They Can Make Or Break Your Event! - Learn How To Choose Wisely

You have to be careful when you are trying to plan a great event. You need to make sure that you are using the right vendors that are there to help you. There are many different people out there that want to take your money and you need to make sure that you are protecting yourself and your event when you decide to use them.

Planning the perfect event for any reason is something that anyone wants to do. It is not always easy, however it is something that you have to take seriously because you will want to make sure that you are getting the most for your money. You want to get the most for your money, but yet still put on a great event.

Shop around for prices on what you need. For example, if you need fifty table clothes, don't get them at the first store that you come to, call at least three suppliers and ask their prices on that same item. That item could be just $1 cheaper at another store, and shipped free, compared to paying $1 more for each table clothe and to have to pay shipping as well.

Look for items that you can reuse at other events. For example, go back to the back to the table clothe order. Will you be able to launder the items, cheap, and reuse them again at another event? This is a good idea is you are going to be an event planner or put on a lot of different events in the next few months or years. While it could be a little more costly up front instead of using paper, you have to look at the number of times you can use these table clothes, and the price you would pay each time if you were to use paper. Remember, savy affairs and events are not the place for paper anyway, so you might end up buying paper table clothes for four events, and then still have to purchase those linens for another event.

A supplier can make or break your event, just by not showing up. You need to keep a list of supplies, that are local so that just in case you find your supplier doesn't ship or doesn't show, you can purchase what you need, without waiting. You always need a backup plan. For example, the 125 paper table clothes you orders online that are blue and green, can you get them anywhere else locally, within fifty miles, even if it costs more? If your supplier doesn't show, or doesn't ship and it is the day of the event, you need to send someone to your backup, and get what you need. Don't let anyone hold you up from being successful.

Hold people to their contracts, to what you ordered. If you ordered 100 green cloth napkins and 40 black napkins for centerpieces, and your shipped the products but in backwards amounts, call the supplier. Tell them you want a big discount or you are going to refuse to accept the shipment. Make your point known. If you have to put up with items that are wrong, then get a discount; get money back on the overall deal. Make it or break it, that is all a name of the game. You can be strong with vendors, remember you are paying their bill and you don't have to pay for what is right. Make the vendor or supplier work for your money.

You should avoid vendors and suppliers who are always running late. Avoid suppliers that do not deliver what you order, and in the quantities that you always order. Keep a running list of suppliers that will put you on top of everything from forks, to tables, to food, to lighting and candles. Always know where you bought the item last, and at least one other supplier for that item so your events will 'go off' without a hitch.

Is your PC slowing down? Or maybe it crashing more and more, Well if that's the case it just might because your PC is suffering old age! Yes that's right just like people PCs suffer from the aging process too.

But there's good news

But unlike people you can actually turn back the aging process and bring your beloved PC back to life. All it takes is a couple of easy to follow tips to ignite your PC's performance to full speed again.

Just follow these easy to follow steps:

System configuration utility

Even when your computer's sat there doing nothing it could be running at least 50 programs! These are programs that a munching away at your poor old CPU and not to mention having a right good go at your memory as well. The reason for this is because over time the more stuff you install the more crap that builds up and even if you don't even use that program, there's a damn good chance that it's running in the background.

To see what I mean hit CTRL +ALT + DELETE then press the processes tab. It will show you how many processes that are running in the background.

1. To solve this little dilemma just go the Start or Run for XP owners, and type MSCONFIG.

2. The System configuration will appear and from in there go to the STARTUP tab.

3. Once you've selected the STARTUP tab you'll be presented all the programs that are running in the background of your PC. What I would recommend is turning everything off apart from your anti virus.

If you do see anything what you do want on for example MSN massager by all means keep it on but the more you have running in the background the more it'll sap your PC's performance and will also affect you're your Boot times as well.

System configuration utility part 2

Now still hanging around in the System Configuration Utility, go to the second tab called SERVICES and go to and untick the HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES. We've got to do this (unless you're a bit more experienced) because if you go and turn one of Microsoft's services you could just mess your entire PC up and we don't want that do we.

Once you've unticked the box you should be just left with all the non Microsoft services.

once again I would recommend to turn them all off but the anti viruses services. Once you've decided what and what not gets the chop click apply and you're done.

Performance Options

Depending on which OS (operating system) your using, this could make or brake it. If your using Windows Vista? I would recommend turning some the visual effects of especially on the lower end systems. However if your using XP, the performance will be less impressive but I believe every ounce of performance is crucial. Besides, you won't even notice half of these switched of anyway.

Now as much as I would love to tell you how to get to these options, the ways to get there are very different when compared to Vista and XP. So a way around this (and probably a cop out as well) I'll just tell the vista owners to type in PERFORMANCE into the search bar, select PERFORMANCE INFORMATION AND TOOLS and click ADJUST VISUAL EFFECTS and you'll find your way there.

For XP owners read on:

1. Go to Start, Control Panel and select PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE.

2. Then ADJUST VISUAL EFFECTS you should find yourself there.

Now I would recommend turning them all off barring the last one. The last one keeps the modern Windows feel which I personally like but hay, everyone's different.

Uninstalling

A fast Hardrive is a empty hardrive. So if you've got an hardrive full to the brim, delete the programs and games you don't need to speed up your Hardrive and watch those boot times fly!

Tip: If you're a gamer (like me) What you can do is save the save game file and uninstall the full game. This way you can get the wanted gigs of space back but not lose your place on Crysis. Cool eh.

Defragging

Now there's hundreds of other tips I wanted to share with you but I wanted to keep this article as short as possible to prevent you been bord to death. but the ver last thing I would do to my PC once I finish optimizing it is to defrag it.

Now your probably thinking that yes I already know that James. But what I would recommend doing is using a different defragger especially if your using the dreaded Vista defragged.

Now as you've probably gathered, I can't stand Vista's defragger, I think it's actually a step backwards, not a step forward. But what really annoys me about it is that you have no idea how long it will takes and how defragmented your hardrive is.

But don't worry, because I'm going to show you to download a much better one that Vista's own shoddy attempt. Auslogics Disk defragger is its name and I think you'll find it quick and easy to use and it seems to do quite a good job as well.

And another thing.. It's completely free to download as well. Just Google "Auslogics Disk defragger" and you should find it in no time.

The health benefits of salmon

A New Old Super Food?

The modern North American diet is one rich in saturated fats, deep fried foods, and high sugar drinks. Cola, alcohol, and fast food have all taken their toll on the overall health and fitness of the North American population, and now a full two thirds of the population is considered overweight or obese, with nearly ten percent of the population being morbidly obese.

The mere mention of a change in diet immediately instills fears of ultra-strict calorie pinching and meal planning, yet it does not have to be so. The right combination of foods, combined with moderate physical activity, is all that one needs to get back into shape and back on track with their health.

It Hails From the Sea

Salmon is one food that carries the weight of the world on its shoulders, or should I say, off of yours. High in lean protein, amino acids, creatine, and essential fatty acids, Salmon is the perfect food for someone looking to gain lean muscle mass and ditch some stored fat.

A four ounce fillet of Salmon contains almost half your daily supply of most essential nutrients, such as vitamins B12 and B3, and over eighty percent of your daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids. It also contains a full days supply of vitamin D and trytophan. What's best is that it does all of this while only packing 261 lean, worry free calories.

How Does Salmon Help You?

The sheer number of advantages and good benefits which come from a steady intake of Salmon is quite remarkable, and experiencing them only involves a few minor changes to your diet. There is no calorie counting, food blocking, or madness-inducing starvation sessions involved with this diet modification, only the subtraction of three high-fat meals a week and the addition of three high-value meals which feature Salmon as the entree.

The consumption of Salmon supplies your body with a steady and easily digested serving of lean protein, allowing your muscles the opportunity and resources to develop without adding the layers of fat to go with it. The eventual result, over a decent period of time, is the creation of lean muscle mass and a reduction in fat stores across the body. Though the consumption of Salmon alone won't decrease your body fat index, if it replaces other, high-calorie and high-fat meals, the consumption of Salmon will certainly get you off to a great start.

The omega-3 acids and high vitamin content of Salmon also gives your body an edge cardio wise. Your heart will pump healthier and more efficiently, and your risk for various heart diseases will be significantly reduced. Again, this is the result of all of the good things that Salmon gives you and the removal of some of the bad meals that Salmon is replacing. Keep in mind that if you are consuming nothing but fast food and fried snacks there is nothing that anyone or anything can do to help.

Incorporating Salmon Into Your Diet

There are many sources of Salmon, such as fresh Salmon fillets or canned Salmon (similar to canned Tuna). As a general rule, you want to focus on fresh wild Salmon as opposed to farmed Salmon. There are many varieties of wild Salmon, though we have become particularly fond of the deep, rich taste from Alaskan Wild Salmon.

Replacing two or three high-fat meals with a Salmon based one every week is all it takes to enjoy the numerous benefits associated with Salmon. Like most things, there are thousands of different and creative ways to prepare Salmon, so search around for a recipe that tickles your taste buds.

Our particular favorite method of preparation is either grilling or poaching a six ounce fillet - try a few different methods and see which ones you love. If you are unsure of how to prepare Salmon, make an evening of it and go out to dinner to a restaurant which features it. Be sure to call ahead to confirm that the restaurant you have in mind has a Salmon based entree.

When everything is said and done, Salmon is a versatile, hard-working part of a healthy lifestyle. It can be prepared a million and one different ways, and it always tastes great. The best part, however, is knowing that you can enjoy Salmon without having to feel guilty.

Bon appetit!

The psychology of poker

The psychology of poker basically involves creating mystery, misdirection and hesitation. Sitting around a table with your opponents can be a challenge. You have to keep your poker face, try to read everybody else’s poker face, and not give away your true intentions when you take a card, raise and call. After a few hands you start to notice the physical aspects of your poker opponents. The hesitation when it comes time to bet, an air of resignation when some player takes three cards, the confident betting of someone with an excellent poker hand, all sorts of little nuances.

In online poker, the entire game is changed because you can’t read the other players’ body language and quirks. An internet casino poker game is often reduced to the game’s bare essence, but you can still take advantage of some psychological tricks to get ahead. In the online casino, some do make their game play as consistent as possible to fool other players when there’s a big hand at stake. Others go the opposite way and try to confuse other online poker players with plenty of bluffing and strategic folding.

Players such as Doyle Brunson, Chip Reese and Barry Greenstein are considered to be among the best poker players of all time. These players have perfected their game techniques and worked out how to use poker psychology to give themselves an edge over their opponents.

Of course, none of this applies if you are simply playing against a computer program. In that case, the best you can do is to figure the odds and find a good strategy. In the case of online poker with other humans, it is still possible to use psychology. You just have to learn how to read the game. Internet casinos present a whole new series of challenges to the seasoned poker player, but over time you can learn how to adapt and win.

How to save money on your life insurance

There are many different life insurance policies and as such there are many ways that you can make savings when it comes to getting a life insurance policy. The best advice when it comes to purchasing your policy is to shop around for the best deal; there is no better way than to use the internet if you want to make savings on your life insurance.

Shopping online for life insurance will allow you to gain access to a huge amount of insurers, as there are many; all insurers are competing against the other for your custom, which goes a long way towards helping you save money.

All insurers will allow you to get an online quote and compare quotes, which mean that at a glance you can see which seems to be the best deal. However always make sure you look into what the policy offers because sometimes a great deal isn’t so great after reading the exclusions and small print.

A great way to make savings on life insurance is to be as healthy as possible to start with when taking out the insurance. Here a little common sense needs to be applied, for instance if you are a smoker or drinker then you can expect to pay more for your life insurance than you would if you didn’t smoke or drink, this is the ideal opportunity to give up those nasty habits.

Being severely over weight can also add to your premium than if you were the average build for your height. Again making adjustments to your lifestyle and diet and losing weight can not only improve your health but also leave you with a little extra cash in your pocket due to lower premiums.

Any pre existing medical conditions can also raise the premiums on your life insurance although these always have to be declared at the time you take out your insurance.

However by doing all you can to help your condition such as taking regular medication and attending regular check ups at the Doctors or clinics will help when you do declare your condition.

Finally don’t take out more life insurance than you need to, by taking out more insurance you will be paying a higher premium.

Kitchen remodel 04

When you are undertaking a kitchen remodeling job, a lot of things go through your head. Remodeling your home, after all, is always a stressful thing. A kitchen remodel, however, is perhaps the most stressful of all – at least it was when we were doing it. You see, it costs a lot of money – so much that it made me reconsider my kitchen decor idea. Did I really need natural hardwood kitchen shelves? What about that granite countertop? Was that necessary? On the one hand, I knew that I would be stuck with whatever remodeled kitchen I ended up with for the next 10 years at the very least. I didn't want it to look second rate. On the other hand, I did not want to spend all of my discretionary funding for the year on just doing the kitchen. That wouldn't be any fun. I wanted to be able to enjoy my money on a vacation.

In the end, we decided to put kitchen design ahead of everything. We could take an inexpensive vacation at one of the local lakes instead of flying abroad this year. Kitchen design is something that I have always been pretty good at, but at first we were thinking about using a full service kitchen remodeling agency. After all, if we were going to spend a lot of money on our kitchen remodel job anyway. We might as well spend a little more and make sure the job was done right. After talking with my wife about it, however, I changed my mind. Part of the fun would be to remodel our kitchen by ourselves.

The first thing that we did in the kitchen remodel was to change the tiles. I was so sick of those stained linoleum tiles. They had looked good when we first bought them, but they just didn't wear that well. By now, they were definitely showing their age. We went to a kitchen remodel store and picked up tiles that looked perfect. We were able to do all of it ourselves, and the rewards were definitely worth it. It gave us a lot of confidence to tackle the tougher stages of the job.

All of the kitchen remodel went surprisingly smoothly. The kitchen cupboards went in well, the kitchen countertop was easy to install, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. We didn't have any trouble painting, of course. As a matter of fact, we made it through the full project without much of any trouble. All in all it turned out pretty well, and it didn't cost nearly as much as we had thought.

Early american furniture 16

Early American furniture comes in all shapes and forms. You can find rustic antiques that have stood the test of time and you can find reproductions of magnificent furniture as well. Antique early American furniture that is in mint condition will be quite expensive but it also makes a great investment.

Following are three top picks in early American furniture. These items are just a few of the many types and styles of antique furnishings available. The items that I have chosen are simply personal favorites of mine that I would like to share. Any one of these early American furnishings would suit just about any style home.

My first favorite is a table called a low boy. The low boy is a short accent table that stands a little higher than your average coffee table. This is a favorite piece of early American furniture because it is so unique and it is intricate in detailed design. This is more than just an accent for any room.

The low boy looks almost like a miniature desk. It has drawers that boast beautiful edging designs and it has a wonderful scalloped top that almost looks like polished marble. This item is a rare find in early American furniture so you can expect to pay quite a bit for a quality piece. Common material used for the low boy included cherry wood which is also a personal favorite of mine.

The Windsor chair is quickly recognized as a staple of early American furniture. This item can be found in antique stores but you can also find the Windsor chair in reproduction as well. I love the classic design that has a very homey appeal. The country style offered by this classic in early American furniture is comfortable and inviting.

Since the Windsor chair can be easily found as a reproduction you can get the look and feel of early American furniture in your home for the fraction of the price of an actual antique collection. A good woodworker will create a product that is heirloom quality for a very reasonable price.

My final pick is the Shaker chest. This is a prime example of quality hand crafted early American furniture. The dovetail design pieces together like a puzzle and the craftsmanship is truly mind-boggling. This is truly an investment because a reproduction would cost a lot of money. An original antique Shaker sells very well at auction and it is a great investment.

Early American furniture comes in all different styles from the formal low boy to the charming country feel of the Windsor chair. You can find great items as investments or you can get a great deal on a reproduction.

4 reasons why you should buy a home air purifier

4 Reasons Why You Should Buy a Home Air Purifier

If you use the internet, read magazines, or watch television, there is a good chance that you have heard of air purifiers before. This is due in part to the fact that air purifiers have increased in popularity over the past few years. Despite the increase in popularity, you may be wondering if you really need to buy an air purifier. Even if you do not really need to have one, there are still a number of benefits to making a purchase. In fact, four reasons why you should buy an air purifier are outlined below.

1 – Air Purifiers Produce Clean Air

Air purifiers are designed to clean the air by removing harmful toxins and other pollutants. These pollutants, if left in the air, can be dangerous. For example, cigarette smoke that lingers in the air has a number of dangers, including an increased risk of lung cancer. An air purifier can help to keep a home’s air clean.

As sited as an example above, many air purifiers eliminate harmful and potentially dangerous toxins and pollutants from secondhand cigarette smoke. Did you know though that there is so much more that air purifiers can clean as well? Air purifiers also clean pollen, mold and mildew, and animal dander.

2 – Air Purifiers Make Your Home More Healthy

As it was previously stated, air purifiers work to capture and eliminate many harmful pollutants and toxins from the air, including pet dander, secondhand tobacco smoke, pollen, mold, and mildew. The presence of these harmful and potentially dangerous toxins and pollutants can make a home a dangerous place to be. For example, pet dander can be dangerous for those who have pet allergies. As for secondhand tobacco smoke, it is dangerous for everyone.

In addition to making your home much healthier, air purifiers can also make your home a happier place to be, for all residents and even guests. In fact, that is another one of the many reasons why you should buy an air purifier for your home.

3 – Air Purifiers Help Those with Allergies and Asthma

As previously stated, there are many toxins and pollutants that fill most homes. In fact, did you know that some homes have more pollutants indoors than there is outdoors? This is true in many cases, largely due to the fact that are windows are closed in the summertime due to the use of air conditioners and they are closed in the wintertime due to coldness. This doesn’t allow much opportunity for fresh air to enter the home or for polluted air to leave.

Long-term exposure to household pollutants and toxins isn’t good for anyone, but it can be harmful or even deadly for those suffering from a number of medical conditions. Two of these conditions include allergies or asthma. If you suffer from asthma or allergies or if you have a family member who does, you are encouraged to use air purifiers as a way to seek relief.

4 – Air Purifiers Are Easy to Find and Buy

As it was previously stated, air purifiers have increased in popularity. This is because many individuals are becoming more concerned with their health and many see air purifiers as a step in the right direction. This means that there are more air purifiers for sale and more retailers are starting to offer them for sale. In addition to having a number of air purifier makes and models to choose from, you also have a number of purchase points to choose from. Air purifiers are sold online, at local home improvement stores, as well as in many department stores.

As you can see, there are a number of benefits to buying and using an air purifier in your home. Four of those reasons where outlined above. As a reminder, you have a number of different air purifiers to choose from, so be sure to read ratings and reviews online. This can help to ensure that you choose the air purifier that is best for you and your needs.

Assumable loans and resale value

The value of an assumable loan comes from two sources. It is often easier for the buyer to qualify when assuming a loan and the payments may be lower than for new financing. However, its value may be limited by two important factors. If the balance of the loan is much below the asking price, the loan may not be worth much. For the buyer to assume, either a large cash down payment is requited or additional financing will be needed. This extra financing may be a loan provided by the seller. Second, if the rate on the existing loan is close to or above the going rate, there is little advantage to assuming it.

How do you know if your loan is assumable? An FHA or VA loan is likely to be assumable. A conventional loan is not likely to be assumable. Look in your loan contract for a “due on sale” clause. If it is there, the lender has the right to call in the loan when you sell the home. There are assumable conventional loans that require a slightly higher interest rate.

If you have an assumable loan at an interest rate below the market, you should get a higher price at the sale. Remember that when you repurchase, you will have to pay more for financing. A higher resale price compensates you for giving up favorable financing.

How much is the loan worth? Consider that, since the loan payments are lower, the buyer could pay a higher price and still make the same payments. Say you have a home that is worth $100,000. You have an assumable loan for $70,000 at 8% interest. There are 25 years left in the teim. A new loan for $70,000 at the prevailing rate of 10% and 30 years requires a monthly payment of $614.30. Your loan’s payments are $540.27. The monthly savings of $74.03 would service a loan at the market rate over 25 years for $8147. Therefore, a buyer who assumes the loan could borrow an additional $8000 and still enjoy lower payments than by using totally new financing. Whether you could extract this amount in the sales price depends on market conditions. However, the assumable loan provides an important sales tool in any market.

If you think you may sell your home in the near future, you may want to refinance with a new assumable loan at a relatively high loan-to-value ratio. This will provide a form of insurance in case interest rates rise or mortgages become hard to get when you do sell.

How to get the best deals on your inkjet supplies

Whether surfing the Internet or visiting your local computer shop, you will encounter a wide range of colorful inkjet supplies to choose from. Inkjet printers are quite popular, offering an inexpensive, reliable way to complete print jobs in the comfort of your own home or small office. Typical inkjets use a basic color cartridge to provide prints through a yellow, cyan and magenta color scheme. A separate black cartridge is also used. While ink is one of the most needed inkjet supply parts requiring constant replacement, there are additional supplies necessary to make sure you can properly use your printer.

Color Cartridges

Depending on the type of printer you own, you may use an all-inclusive color cartridge to create prints. High-end models often take separate ink cartridges for each color, which makes for easier replacement (one-at-a-time). When choosing color cartridges, always make sure you are choosing the correct model. Trying to place incorrect cartridges into your printer may damage it. Also, take notice that certain photo-quality printers will require additional cartridges that offer a wider range of ink colors.

Paper

Paper is another one of those important printer supplies you need to complete a job. Some of the types of printer paper on the market include copy, premium, glossy and semi-gloss. Additional paper options come perforated for the creation of business cards. There are also special papers, such as transfers to create T-shirts and adhesive selections that can be used to print graphics for stickers.

Replacement Parts

Knowing the kind of cable and connector used to attach your printer to the computer will make replacing these parts much easier. This information can be found in your printer manual or when visiting a store, you may take the old cable or connector with you. There are two main types of connectivity to consider: USB connections and printer ports. Optional parts to select for your printer also depend on the model. Some printers accept flash card readers or media sticks, while others use USB gadgets to connect digital cameras to your printing apparatus.

Maintenance Supplies

There are cleaning solutions on the market that aim to keep your printer in top working condition. Often, a clear fluid can be purchased, which is used to clean or flush out clogged ink. For stubborn jobs, the printer may take overnight treatment and might not be ready for use until days later after the cleaning solution has settled in to work its magic. Sometimes, cleaning fluid can also be used to dilute existing ink to create lighter shades.

Selecting the Right Supply Models

When purchasing inkjet supplies, you must know the make and model of your machine, which is essential for successfully selecting the correct match for your printer. Surely, you can’t outfit an HP 2110v inkjet printer with ink cartridges made for an Epson. Checking your make and model is quite easy. This information is visibly displayed on your inkjet printer. An even better resource to turn to is the printer manual. All of the information you need to know is conveniently situated in one place. This also comes in handy when replacing parts you are unfamiliar with, such as printer connection cables.

How To Save Money On Inkjet Supplies

There are plenty of ways to take advantage of a discount on inkjet supplies. One of the best markets for comparison-shopping and finding the greatest deals is the Internet. Thousands of companies across the world are vying for your business and they will slash prices, hoping to attract you to their site. You may encounter “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” bonuses, as well as tons of 50% off an assortment of printer inks.

Sometimes, the manufacturer of your inkjet printer may offer a few deals from time-to-time, such as discounted color and black/white ink combos. Visiting their main website will alert you to deals, while signing up for an email newsletter will also keep you on top of the inkjet supply bargains.

When it comes to ink, many consumers are saving money by purchasing do-it-yourself refill kits. Although, more involvement and procedure is involved than simply inserting an ink cartridge, it is still a great way to cut costs on inkjet supplies.

History of world of warcraft

:
World of Warcraft stands as the greatest game in the popular Warcraft series

World of Warcraft has been an extraordinary success since its launch in November 2004. It has impressed game critics and has captivated millions of players, who adore the world that the game has created. It is no longer just a game but is now a genuine phenomenon, and one that shows no signs of abating. It is one of the key games of recent times, and stands as a landmark title for online gaming.

World of Warcraft’s appeal lies in that it has created a truly engaging online world. This massively multiplayer online role-playing game is set in the world of Azeroth, a fantastic land that is filled with heroes and monsters and many other creatures. The game’s strength is that it functions as an experience, as a world that exists on its own terms that you may visit and explore as you please.

World of Warcraft is the 4th title in the series of Warcraft games, which have been entertaining people for over a decade. The series began in 1994 with the game Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, a real time strategy game set in Azeroth. This was a fine title, and a good introduction to the series, but in truth the franchise was just getting started. The best was still to come.

Indeed, it wasn’t until 1995 and the release of the second game, Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness, that the series really found its voice. Warcraft 2 was a masterpiece, and it improved on the original in every sense. The game had beautiful graphics, epic storytelling and fascinating, absorbing gameplay. The high standards of the series continued in 2002, with the release of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. This was another classic and a remarkable game in its own right. The predecessors of World of Warcraft were all superb.

Blizzard Entertainment published all of the Warcraft titles, and the games attracted a huge following. When Blizzard announced that there was going to be a 4th game in the series, it was natural that people were interested. This interest intensified when it emerged that the new Warcraft title was going to be an online multiplayer game. World of Warcraft would make Azeroth more interactive and redefine it as an experience.

The fans of the series had high expectations for World of Warcraft, as it promised to be a terrific and innovative new title. Blizzard held a beta test for the game in March 2004, and gave selected players a preview. Those who played it were very impressed and it received great reviews. The anticipation for the game’s release grew stronger as 2004 went on.

World of Warcraft was officially launched in North America on Tuesday the 23rd of November 2004. It was well received by critics. The launch was a major success, and it achieved huge sales on its first day of release. Blizzard estimated that 240,000 copies were sold in the first day alone. These were record numbers for a game of this genre and so World of Warcraft became the fastest-selling online game in history. It was a smash hit.

World of Warcraft sustained this success; in fact, the popularity of the game began to snowball. It really took off and caught the public imagination, with more and more people becoming enthralled with it. 2005 saw the game explode into a global obsession. In February it was launched in Europe and in June it was launched in China, with other countries following suit. It proved hugely popular everywhere it was released, and by 2005’s close it had more than five million subscribers worldwide.

World of Warcraft has evolved since its initial release. There have been a number of updates for the game, and the universe of Azeroth has grown. Blizzard have made improvements, fixed any problems, and have worked to make the game user-friendly. They have also expanded the game, by adding sections like Blackwing Lair, for example, the dungeon lair of Nefarion, one of the villains in the game.

In June 2005, Blizzard added major player versus player content in the form of two special battlegrounds, Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. Are you derailing your business with details

Details can kill your web business. And I'm not talking about details killing your business from the standpoint of being careless about them. While it's true that being careless can hurt your business, everybody knows that (even if they don't always put it into practice).

The way I'm talking about that details can kill your business is if you focus too much on them.

Say what?

How on earth can focusing too much on details hurt your business?

Ever tried to walk on a railroad track?

When I was a kid, my aunt and uncle had a house right next to a railroad track. My uncle once challenged me to walk on the track without falling off.

Hey, it's not like walking a tightrope. That track was as wide as my feet. Should be no problem. So I started walking it, carefully watching my feet with each step to make sure I stayed on the track. But I couldn't get more than a couple of steps before I'd lose my balance and fall off.

My uncle taught me that the only way to walk that track successfully was to look at a point a ways down the track - not down at my feet. By setting a goal and focusing on it, I could walk on that track as easily as if I was walking right on the ground. It was only when I focused on my feet that I tripped up.

It works that way with business, too. Our natural reaction is to put all our attention into "watching our feet" as we deal with this short-term detail and that. But when we do that, we "fall off the track" of where we wanted to go.

Now, I'm not saying that we should ignore the details of our business as we gaze wistfully toward our vision of the knock-out business we dream of building. You never get anywhere without taking step after step after step to reach your goal. But you never get anywhere, either, if all you look at is the present step.

The point in the distance that you need to focus on is the need your audience has and the solution you have that will fill it. It requires you to understand your audience - who they are and what they need and what concerns stand in the way of them choosing your solution.

It's way too easy for us to focus on details, namely, on the latest traffic building tips or tools, the latest bells and whistles we can add to our site. Details are usually driven by facts, and facts are something we feel we can learn and control. Understanding the people who make up our pool of potential customers is a lot more scary. It requires us to step outside ourselves into the hearts and minds of other people.

Given the choice between dealing with predictable facts and details or dealing with unpredictable human nature, most of us will jump at dealing with facts any time.

But that just gets us stuck staring at our own feet as our feet inexplicably slip off the track. The only way to stay on track is by looking toward your ultimate goal: you helping people solve some problem in return for them repaying you fairly for the time and effort you put into it.

That's really the most simple definition of what business is. The details are not your business. The facts and the tips and the tools are not your business either. They're merely the steps you take to get to that point in the distance. And the more you take that to heart, the more easily you'll stay on the track toward your goal.

Hdtv introduction

Are you looking to buy a HDTV? Take a look at our guide to find out what HDTV is about.

1. What does HDTV stand for?

High Definition Television

2. What is HTDV?

It is a new technology and way of filming that has a higher bit depth resolution and gives you a sense or realism while watching the program. Sports are one of the leading industries in high definition programming. To film in HDTV requires a special camera.

3. How can I tell if my TV is HDTV?

It should say it directly on the box or with the model number. EDTV is not HDTV! There is another side aspect most people overlook due to pricing schemes and that is pixel depth. The cheaper plasmas and LCD have lower clarity or pixels. Therefore, to buy a great HDTV, you need to look for higher pixel resolutions.

4. Why Should I Buy One?

Because you will never go back, it is like night and day. A true HDTV and HD Television Program are ten times better picture clarity than at the movie theaters. HDTV's also have lots of additional features that standard old televisions do not. They usually have ports for connecting to computers to act as a computer monitor, split screen, more aspect ratios for watching in different formats. Since the cameras have have been improved to record HD programs, they also went ahead and improved the sound recording system and so you have even higher quality sound to go along with the improved picture.

HDTV has been out for a few years now and therefore there are less bugs and defunct screens. In addition, the price has drastically fallen, for around $2000 you can buy an excellent 32-42ÐŽ± screen with high resolution and all the extra options.

5. Is there anything else I should know when buying a HDTV screen?

Yes, the cables can be very expensive. HDMI cables, RGB, and others that maximize the picture and sound (which are necessary) can cost between $35-$50 each and you need several. It is not necessary to buy name brand cables, so go to places like radio shack and buy the off brand for half the price. In addition, please research whether you should buy an LCD or Plasma screen, because based on you use and room arrangements you will require one or the other.

Methods for photo backups

:
So you have finally decided to backup those precious photos? There are a few ways to backup photos. In this article we will explain how you can backup your photos either yourself at home or by using an online backup service.

Backing up to a DVD/CD

Backing up to a DVD/CD is done by using a DVD/CD writer and software that can burn files on such media. Usually using such solutions requires more technical know-how. Backing up to a DVD/CD is a cheap solution. You can buy such writer drives and software for under a $100 and each DVD/CD media should cost much less than a dollar. One such software that is used by many is from the company Roxio.
When backing up your photos to a DVD/CD please keep the DVD/CD in a safe place a good option would be somewhere out of your home maybe a family member’s home, with a neighbor you can trust or with a friend. Another thing to remember with DVD/CD backups is that when you take new photos you should remember to refresh your backups. Usually unless your photo album is very big the easiest way to do that is just to burn again you complete collection.

Backing up to an online backup service

As many other services backup also found its way to the Internet. A number of sites provide backup services today for everything from digital photo albums to your word documents. Those services usually charge a monthly fee in the $10 to $20 but some provide a more limited service for free. The idea behind the service is simple: instead of backing up to a DVD/CD you upload your photos to a site and create copies there. The site stores the backups in a safe place far away from your computer. If a disaster happens and you need your files you can simply download them back from the site or have the site send you a DVD/CD with the files (not all provide the latter option). A broadband connection is needed in order to use this option.

There are many advantages to using an online backup service. First they are usually very easy to use. Some provide software that you download and install on your computer. You point to the folder where your photos reside and the software takes it from there. It will make sure new files are uploaded to the backup service and that the backup is always fresh.

Examples of sites that provide such service are: Streamload that starts with a basic FREE 10GB space (approx 10,000 photos at 2 megapixels) and Xdrive that starts from 5GB for $10 a month.

Cost effectiveness of it outsourcing

Small businesses have been contracting computer consultants to fix their computers for many years. Usually this is because they have a small number of computers and hiring someone full time to maintain these small networks is not economical or efficient.

This article will focus on the three main benefits that companies experience when they choose to outsource their computer services through a third party. They may even employ or have employed their own IT staff in the past.

#1 Save Money & Time. Computer consultants are very cost effective, efficient and time saving, especially if you contract them on a retainer basis. A retainer is a prepaid service fee, usually paid monthly. This retainer service contract puts the consulting firm “on call” and no matter when, what, or how long it takes the firm to solve the problem they are legally and ethically bound to fix it so long as the services rendered are in the boundaries of the service contract. The more time the consultant spends the less per hour they make, intrinsically motivating them to be efficient. If your network is down and you are losing money by the minute, you will feel comforted to see this computer consultant firm onsite fixing the problem.

#2 Increased Company Performance. When hiring a computer consulting firm you are getting the combined experience of the whole firm plus all of their partners and resources. Even if your company has a full time IT person or two they may not have all the expertise needed to create the dependable robust IT solution needed to solve your problems. A consulting firm will complete the project with a more reliable and robust solution because their combined ability is greater. A more robust and reliable IT solution will boost your performance as a company.

#3 Professional Courtesy. A computer consulting firm is a different company than yours. Like you they are motivated to keep their clientele and expand their market share. Their reputation is the most important advertising tool they have. They compete against other IT firms, usually generating referrals to gain market share, a better reputation is worth its weight in gold. Thus they are naturally motivated to provide superior overall service to you.

In conclusion, outsourcing your IT can save your company money due to less down time, increase your company’s performance due to more reliable and robust IT solutions, and give you superior overall service because they compete for your business.

Camping sites 03

Ahh, there's just something incomparable about Mother Nature. Any avid camper can tell you the very same thing. Once you step into those woods, far away from the smog and chaos of the urban jungle, all is instantly right with the world. Take a deep breath! This is the cleanest air you'll probably experience until you do it again. Let it caress your over-worked lungs and fill them with exhaust-free oxygen. That's right; it's healthier out in the boonies. So, have I snatched everyone's attention yet? I'll bet right about now you're sorting through useful online camping sites to find that ideal spot to pitch a tent.

Things have changed since I was a kid. I recall camping out where ever I pleased with my dad and brothers. We would basically load up the truck with tents, sleeping bags and basic camping supplies and take to the wilderness. Okay, so maybe we were on our own property, but I suspect most people don't have the luxury of a 20 acre woods. Maybe unless you're Pooh Bear or Tigger. They actually have 100 acres. Anyway, my point is that you can't simply drop your gear and build a fire where ever you please. You have to find camping sites that allow you to stay there. And this is for a couple different reasons. Number one, you wouldn't want to end up trespassing on someone's property, and two; just pitching a tent where ever you choose is dangerous. You never know who or what might lurk in that area. It's best to stay on your own property or resort to routine camping sites found in your neck of the woods.

Clearly before you can take on the bush, you need to pack a few crucial camping supplies. Aside from your tent and sleeping bag, you'll want to remember a lighter/pack of matches, plenty of food and water, the right attire for the season, flashlights, a knife, and some dishes for cooking over the fire pit. If you've got all these things, I'd say you set and ready to grapple with the great outdoors. Now it's time to get jacked into cyberspace and seek out the best camping sites around. Find one that's not too crowded, if possible. Much depends on the time of year.

How to tell if a health product is for real or not part 1

“Take our dodo bird poop extract and your cancer will be cured!” Oh, no. It's ANOTHER miracle cure! Natural potents claiming miraculous results seem to abound these days. It's often times hard to tell if a product is “for real” or not. Here are a few pointers that should help you choose effective nutritional products instead of hyped up trash.

The first factor you'll wish to look at is scientific research on a product. Ask the company or salesperson for scientific research on their product.

First of all, if there have been no scientific studies done on the efficacy of the product, be very wary.

If there are scientific studies that show good results from using the product, you should check a very important element in the scientific studies – were they performed using the exact product that you are considering buying?

For example, a salesman may give you a study showing excellent results with “Aloe Vera”. However, the study was most likely performed using fresh aloe vera, not the particular aloe-derived product that you are considering buying. This is very important, because there are many things that a company can do or not do (even without knowing it) in between harvesting the plant and you buying the product that could render the product useless.

That brings us to the second factor to consider, which is processing. How is the product processed? Is it processed in a way that ensures that when you purchase it, it still has all of the nutrients that it should in it?

It can often be difficult to determine if a product is processed properly. So you'll often have to make your decision based on other factors. For example, if you have scientific studies showing that the product gives good results off the shelf, it is apparently processed correctly.

Need help on that college tuition

Need Help On That College Tuition?

Parents nowadays are amazed or even flabbergasted at the high cost of college tuition fees.

The average cost at a private college or university in the US is about $21,235 per year, and about $5,491 per year at four-year public universities. In 2006, public college tuition jumped 10.5 percent. (egad!) And when you add in room and board, the cost of attending a private college is $29,026 per year on average, and $12,127 at four-year public universities. According to msnbc, published prices are up 35 percent in five years — the largest increase of any five-year period in the 30 years covered the report.

Taking inflation and the rising cost of living into account, monetary help is needed much more than ever. So before sending your teen out to the big school, make sure you're prepared, at the most, financially. It’s never too early to research on available support, and that’s where a site like eLearningYellowPages. com can help. They have a list of scholarship matching services where you or your child can apply online and get a head start on that tuition aid. There are informative and useful articles regarding how to find financial aid including grants and scholarships via the Internet, and how to avoid potential scams.

There are also available resources which can be used for any type of educational opportunity, including GED courses, Certificate Programs, Undergraduate & Graduate School, Online or Distance Learning Programs, Home-Based Study, Continuing Education and Career Training. Secure your children’s education and secure their future now.

Going to bookshops to identify a hot market

The day may come when people do all of their researching and reading online but it isn't here yet. Fiction, of course, will always be in print... it would be hard to curl up with a good novel in front of the fireplace on a cold winter day with a computer. Research, however, may eventually all be done online. People buy 'how-to' books and books that are devoted to solving their problems and/or making their lives better every day. By identifying the hot market books that are being sold in bookshops (online and off line) you can identify a hot niche marketing topic.

Go to the bookshops in your area and take note of the kinds of non-fiction books that are stocked. You should particularly note the ones that are self-help or how-to books. If you can create the opportunity, ask the stock boy which ones are selling the best. He's the one who knows what is being restocked most often. That failing, ask a floor salesperson the same question. Asking the bookstore owner or manager is the last option. They are more likely to be pushing the books that aren't selling well in order to make a sale. Learn by whatever means you can which self-help or how-to books are the hottest sellers.

Another option is the online bookstores. You can't, of course, ask for information from a person but you can research the site and determine which of the non-fiction self-help or how-to books are highest in sales.

Finding out what books people are most often buying can give you some insight into what the hot market subjects are. Armed with this information, you can go about creating a niche marketing website that will have a better chance of becoming successful.

Compromising with the irs

Few things threaten your well-being like the harassment and anxiety of persistent tax problems. Most people make 3 mistakes that get them in trouble with the IRS. They procrastinate. They attempt to represent themselves. They hire sub-par representation and now are in MORE need of help than ever before.

These are the kind of services a Tax Attorney can provide: Offer in Compromise Cases, Penalty Abatement Petitions, Full Audit Representations Business Strategy Sessions. Preparation and Filing of Tax Returns.

Settle taxes for Pennies on the Dollar owed, Stop IRS wage and bank levies (garnishments), Have property liens lifted, get affordable installment agreements, File bankruptcy against the IRS, Have penalties and interest forgiven, Reduce taxes by running out the IRS' time to collect.

Offer in Compromise: Settle your taxes for Pennies on the Dollar owed Professional law offices can help get you a favorable settlement with an experienced IRS tax attorney. The IRS' Offer in Compromise program allows taxpayers to settle their tax debt.

What is an IRS offer in compromise?

It settles your tax liability for less than the full amount owed, providing you can prove you don't have the ability to pay. Depending on how much you can afford, you really can pay "Pennies on the Dollar Owed" in taxes.

If it is done correctly - this option could save you an enormous amount of money, and is the best strategy for most taxpayers. You should take extreme caution. You should hire a professional with knowledge of the IRS' procedures.

This professional should determine the least amount that the IRS will accept from you. If the Offer is not submitted correctly it will be rejected, or you may be required to pay more than is necessary.

An Offer in Compromise may save you a LARGE amount of money. Do you know that the IRS only has a limited time to collect your back taxes?

Let a Professional Tax Attorney determine when the IRS' time limit to collect taxes runs out.

In most cases the IRS has only a limited time to collect the unpaid taxes. You must CAREFULLY evaluate exactly when that time period will run out.

Your troubles may be solved. and moreover: If the IRS' time has run out, or if it will run out soon, your troubles may be over.

Delaying tactics may be used to stall the IRS while their time runs out. Once the IRS is out of time, they MUST stop ALL collection action against you.

The IRS MUST release all property liens

TAX RETURNS - FAILURE TO FILE

Many people fail to file Individual Income Tax Returns for a variety of reasons. Some reasons are innocent, although the most common is the fact that people can't afford to pay the taxes.

When this happens it becomes difficult to get back into the system. "I filed for 1998. I couldn't pay for 2000, so I did not file. Then I was afraid to file for 2001. I haven't filed since then. What can I do now?"

If you do not file Income Tax Returns you commit a criminal offense. However, no one who has voluntarily filed back returns before being caught has ever been criminally prosecuted. That is the first key: filing BEFORE they catch you.

IRS Penalties

Some IRS penalties can be as high as 100% to 150% of the original taxes owed. Even if you could pay the taxes owed, the extra penalties will make it impossible to pay off the entire balance.

The IRS imposes penalties to punish taxpayers and keep them in line. The IRS does forgive penalties. Before you pay the IRS any penalty amounts, you may want to consider requesting the IRS to not punish you because it wasn't your fault.

Consolidate debt to gain financial ground

You know you are in trouble. There are piles of opened bills sitting there on the table, and even more on the dresser that you haven’t even bothered to open. Your family and your friends aren’t going to loan it to you. You have spent more than you can realistically expect to earn any time in the foreseeable future, and you simply can’t bet on winning the lotto. So, is there really anything you can do to help yourself get out of this mess you have made? Maybe, just maybe, you should consider consolidating debts or seeking credit counseling.

Debt consolidation has become a household word and ever popular method to tackling outstanding debts. While it got its start on the internet during the dot-com boom, debt consolidators have also taken to advertising on television and radio spots. The increased exposure from the ads brought about more awareness of the concepts that drive the debt consolidation agencies and as a result has encouraged people to look for ways of crawling out from underneath all the consumer and student loan debts.

There are, like anything, good and bad debt consolidation agencies. With the increased publicity and advertising, the government has became more and more aware of the differences between the agencies and some agencies have found themselves facing costly lawsuits.

Understanding debt consolidation is important before one actually looks to it as a solution. Debt consolidation is taking and lumping all of the outstanding bills you might have – consumer/credit card debt, student loans, personal loans, etc. and taking those debts to the debt consolidation representative. The representative will then communicate with each of the debtors and ask them to cooperate with creating better terms – sometimes this means lower interest, lower payments over longer periods of time, etc. Consolidating debt does not erase valid debt, but instead the work to find a solution to repaying the debt that better meets your personal and financial needs. New buzzwords given to the concept include debt negotiation or debt settlement. Regardless of the name given to it, the concept and procedure remain the same.

You may wonder if the consolidate debt solution is too good to be true. That depends. As is the case with almost any financial topic, debt reduction has its cheerleaders and its critics. As a consumer it is really your responsibility to look carefully at the pros and cons and make the best possible decision for your particular circumstance. You will need to research companies and find one that seems worth taking a chance on. Ask agencies like the Better Business Bureau for their recommendations based upon complaints and feedback they have received. You may decide that rather than take your debts to another agency, you will save yourself the fee and speak one-on-one with your creditors. Many creditors will appreciate the sincere effort you are making and work with you. Once you have your current financial woes under control, consider taking some classes in how to better create a budget and financial plan that will let you avoid future trouble. You will be very glad you did.

Music cdr and data cdr

Music CD-R And Data CD-R

People who are new to computers and duplication, will

sometims confuse CD-R music media with CD-R data

media. While confusing them is easy to do, the

two are different indeed. Even if you have some

experience with computers, confusing them is very

easy to do.

As you may or may not know, there are differences

between music CD-R and data CD-R disks. The obvious

difference is, of course, the name. With one

named CD-R music and one named CD-R data, you

know there has to be some type of difference

between the two.

What's known is that there are indeed technical

differences in what is embedded in blank music

CDs when compared to blank data CDs. These

differences center upon bytes that are within

the sub channels of the blank music disks.

This doesn't affect the quality, as both audio

and data can be duplicated onto both music CD-R

disks and data CD-R disks. You can burn data onto

music CD-R, and music onto data CD-R media

without any problems. Keep in mind, whether or

not you get data on a music CD-R will depend

on what type of hardware you use to duplicate

the CD.

If you plan to use a PC to do all of your burning,

it won't matter. A PC doesn't differentiate

between music CD-R and data CD-R. PCs will see

a blank media CD and duplicate information on it

that pertains to the settings you have outlined

in the software you plan to use to burn the CD.

If you plan to use a seperate CD burner, it

may or may not let you burn data or music on

a generic blank or data CD-R. Some hardware

are funny like that, as they only want you to

use blank media with well known brand names

that they have approved of.

If you plan to do most of your CD duplication

on a computer, it really doesn't matter which

type of blank CD-R you use. They will both

work fine in most cases when you store either

music or data. When storing data, you have a

limit of 700 MB, while music will have a limit

of a little over an hour of tunes.

For your duplication needs, computers are the

ideal way to copy media. You can use equipment

outside of a computer and CD burner, although

you'll need to check the operations manual

and see what they recommend for media. If you

have a computer or access to one, it can do

wonders in the areas of music and data CD-R

duplication.
